Globally, it’s becoming trendy to empower people working with children within various child centered institution to react responsibly to disclosure and concerns relating to the safety of child. As Mandatory Reporter and active bystander it is your responsibility to ensure that every child in your care is safe from any form of abuse. This is keeping with the Lagos State Executive Order in respect to the State’s Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy. The Policy emphasizes that all schools, child centered and related institutions have a shared responsibility in ensuring the welfare and safety of children. The Policy mandates that such institutions must share information about child protection and good practice that will encourage children to develop a sense of independence and autonomy in a way that is appropriate to their age and development.
Within the first 9months in 2019, the Cece Yara Foundation has built the capacity of over 350 professionals through a participatory and community-based approach to protect children from sexual abuse. At the Foundation, it is our beliefs that adults are responsible for the safety of children and that adult should take responsible and proactive step to protect children from sexual abuse
